Bowen Technique
Farida is a qualified Bowen therapist and a Senior Bowtech Instructor.
The Bowen Technique was developed by Tom Bowen from Geelong, Australia, who successfully treated 13000 patients a year. Oswald and Elaine Rentsch (Osteopath & Homeopath), then worked with Tom Bowen and documented the technique. They commenced teaching it after Tom Bowen’s death, as per his wish. They have since taken the technique to more than 25 countries all over the world and are the Principals of the Bowen Therapy Academy of Australia.
Bowen is a very non invasive State of the art Technique and has profound effects on various chronic disorders including degenerated spine, arthritis, rheumatism, stress, chronic fatigue, acidity, fractures, sprains, sports injuries, musculo skeletal disorders, asthma, nervous disorders, mental and emotional equilibrium, women’s problems including fertility and many other ailments. The Bowen Technique compliments conventional medicine. It is a unique form of neuromuscular repatterning and is a completely new concept of body work which is neither derived from nor similar to any other physical modality.
In Bowen, specific, gentle, rolling moves are made on ligaments, tendons or muscles which most likely activate the Golgi receptors and send signals to the brain, the neurological pathways, the fascia, also activating the meridians, and the electro magnetic field of the person. These stimulations activate a systematic response so powerful that a few minutes pause is observed to allow them to be integrated. Unlike other treatments the body does its own rectification and the will of the practitioner is not imposed on the client. It has been suggested that the Bowen Technique may introduce specific harmonic frequencies to the body systems on the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual levels. Benefits are usually apparent within two sessions, even when long standing conditions are being treated. What’s more Bowen results are lasting and profound!

Acupuncture
Acupuncture is an ancient art of Traditional Chinese Medicine, which has been practiced for approximately the last 3000 years. It works on a system called the ‘meridians’, which are energy pathways or Qi (vitality/ energy) that run through our bodies. Qi flows through the body and should be in dynamic form always to keep a constant equilibrium, so that the body is in a healthy state. The Yin / Yang symbol portrays this balance.
When there is a disruption in the flow of Qi, the body is no longer in harmony and the equilibrium is disturbed. This is when disease can manifest. In order to balance out the equilibrium, modalities such as Acupuncture help maintain this constant flow, thereby preventing sickness developing in the body. It also allows the body to heal itself when a disorder has resulted, by aiding the meridians to re-establish a strong and healthy flow of Qi. *
Acupuncture is therefore a preventative medicine, which promotes maintaining one’s health, as well as helping disorders, which have already manifested. Some of the disorders that the World Health Organisation has specified where Acupuncture is effective are:

Courses in Bowen Technique – The Original Bowtech
Farida is a instructor in the revolutionary technique of Bowen Therapy conducting diploma courses accredited by the Bowtech Academy in both Australia and India. She has been treating people voluntarily in Mumbai and Pune during her visits to India using the Bowen technique and as the numbers have grown and people are feeling the benefits there is a need to have Bowen practitioners locally. She now has a proud team of very dedicated and committed Bowen practitioners in India, the first of their kind ever in India who are running successful clinics in Mumbai and also giving of their valuable time in doing voluntary works. She teaches in Sydney, Australia as well.
Learning Bowen involves completing 7 x 2 day modules which in India is over a one year period. Modules 1 to 6 cover all aspects of training with Module 7 as the Accreditation Assessment Module. Knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology is a prerequisite together with Senior First Aid and Business management skills.
