Class DescriptionsAshtanga Mysore style
A traditional style of yoga taught as a set sequence of âsanas (postures) synchronising the movement of the body with the breath. The Asanas are designed in a specific order to open, align and detoxify the body and nervous system, developing greater physical strength, flexibility and mental clarity. Students are taught at their own pace in a small group setting and courses are suitable for all levels. Minimum commitment of 2 mornings per week.
Beginners courses
Ashtanga Yoga Redfern offers 2 different courses for beginners starting the first week each month.
Beginners Level 1 Course is ideal for those with little or no yoga experience. Students have the option of either Monday or Wednesday evenings at 7:45pm for a 60 minute class. Students also have the option of attending any other Ashtanga class on the timetable for the duration of the course.
Beginners Level 2 / Introduction to Mysore Course is aimed at those with some yoga experience. Classes are on Monday or Wednesday evenings 6:30pm for a 70 minute class. Students also have the option of attending any other Ashtanga class on the timetable for the duration of the course.
Beginners Course Fees
4 evening classes (consecutive over 4 weeks or 2 per week over 2 weeks) $75

Mysore Program

Hatha Yoga
Hatha Yoga is a traditional and orthodox style of yoga consisting of different âsanas (postures) which when linked together creates sequences of movement. Together with correct alignment, breath control and stillness of pose, yoga has the ability to slow down the fluctuations (thoughts) of the mind, bringing the body and mind into a more equanimous and balanced space.
Hatha yoga classes at the RYR are aimed at a wide range of people, from the beginner to the more experienced student, from the office worker to the busy parent, corporate executive or student. Choose the level that best suits your needs. Level 1 is suitable for beginners and people with no yoga experience, whereas Level 2 has been created for those with some yoga experience. So no matter what your age, flexibility or circumstance, there is a class for you. Class sizes are small and intimate so you can enjoy plenty of individual attention.

Massage Therapy
Redfern Yoga Room offers Remedial and Therapeutic massage. Choose from our beautiful room onsite 2 minutes walk from Redfern Train Station, or one of our therapists will come to your home or place of business. We have several different massage therapists to choose from, all fully qualified with years of experience.
One hour massage $90 on / off site
One and a half hour massage $120 on / off site
