Who Can Try Yoga?
The physical practice of yoga is suitable for all body types and ages. Yoga can release the tension build up in our bodies by isolating each muscle group, stretching that group and sending oxygenated blood to that area.
It also encourages deep and mindful breathing to reawaken the tissues in the body, leading to a refreshed and calmer mindset. Without the conscious breath, yoga is just exercise.
Yoga Techniques We Use
Hatha Yoga provides a great foundation for those curious about yoga. This style of yoga is gentle and slow paced, providing a general introduction to the basic yoga poses.
Vinyasa Flow has a direct focus on breath synchronised movement. This technique involves moving from one posture to the next with an inhalation or an exhalation.
Yoga works on every aspect of the physical body; building strength, stamina, toning and flexibility. It also improves the mental body through concentration, awareness, and the ability to simply relax!
BEGINNERS CLASS
This class is suitable for anyone new to yoga, no matter what age or fitness level. There is strong focus on the preparation of poses, sometimes with the use of props. Simple breathing exercises are also introduced to improve posture, a greater sense of calm and an enhanced sense of self. This class is also great for those returning to yoga after a break or for those seeking a gentle class.
PREPARATION & WHAT TO EXPECT
Preparation:
Please arrive 5-10 minutes early for your first class to complete a new student form.
Try to allow at least 90 minutes after a meal before attending a class ( or have a light snack if necessary).
Wear comfortable clothing which allows a full range of movement
Advise of any injuries or health conditions
Yoga mats will be provided although you may wish to bring your own. Please bring a blanket to remain warm during relaxation.
What to Expect:
A typical beginner’s class with Jenny will include asana (physical postures/poses), pranayama (breathing), and shavasana (relaxation).
The postures are designed to work with the body, to open energy blockages and cleanse the body. You will learn to use the breath as a tool when moving in and out of these postures, enabling the release and opening of tight muscles. The class will end with a deeply rewarding relaxation to rest the nervous system and quiet the mind.
Learn the foundations of yoga in a friendly and safe environment, with other beginners. It doesn’t matter how flexible or strong you are, but you will feel the benefits after the first class.

Beginner’s Yoga: Thursday 6pm – 7.15pm
Prices
Casual: $17 or $15 concession.
5 Class Pass (2 month expiry): $75 or $65 concession.
