Kundalini Yoga, an ancient technolgy brought to the West by Yogi Bhajan, is the fastest-acting, most powerful and inclusive of all yogas. It works primarily by facilitating the flow of energy through the body, in particular along the spinal energy channels through the chakras. Regular practice can elevate your consciousness, promote physical well-being, expand your awareness and transform your life.
It supports us to become physically and mentally strong by creating a strong nervous system and healthy glandular and immune system so that we may live a life full of radiance and abundance.
Kundalini Yoga uses movement, sound current, breath and meditation to relax and heal your mind and body, allowing the spirit to flow freely. It brings a greater feeling of well-being and happiness – our natural birthright as humans. This powerful and effective form of Yoga, as taught by Yogi Bhajan, is a great way to recharge and heal your body quickly. How? By stimulating the nervous and immune systems, while improving strength and flexibility, as it centers the mind and opens the spirit. Saturday: 10.00am at Ohana Yoga, 82 Bridport Street, Albert Park

First we tune in using a centering technique to call upon our inner guidance. Then we warm-up and stretch out our bodies using movement and strong breathing. Each Kundalini Yoga class is unique, but each will contain a yoga “set” of postures and exercises that work on specific areas of the body, mind, and spirit. There are literally hundreds of these yoga sets (kriyas) to choose from: yoga for your back, your radiance, your mind/heart balance, your ability to keep up through hard times, in short, for every aspect of you as a human being.
After the yoga set, the class will culminate with a deep relaxation, supported and uplifted by divine music, and often times, the sound of the gong. After the restful period, the class will end with a breath or mantra meditation.

Debbie / Siri Ram Kaur is a certified KRI Kundalini Yoga teacher as taught by Yogi Bhajan.
Siri Ram is also the founder of Young Yogis and specialises in teaching Yoga to children in various child care centres. Check with your childcare centre to see if they have the Young Yogis program. She believes it is everyone’s birthright to be happy and enjoy the sense of peace that Kundalini Yoga brings. Siri Ram has dedicated her life to teaching the powerful, life-changing science and practice of Kundalini Yoga.
