Dominic Salvemini Biomechanical Podiatry
Oz-Pod
Oz-pod podiatry assesses and treats looking not only at your presenting complaint, but rather your whole body, as a unique functioning biomechanical unit.
This is what makes us different!
Podiatry and “Sports Podiatry” are the specialty of diagnosing, treating and managing, disorders and resultant injuries of the feet and legs.
Feet are examples of complex human engineering, with 52 bones and an intricate network of joints, ligaments and muscles.
Improper structure or function of the foot can result in a wide range of injuries to the legs & feet and throughout the entire musculo-skeletal system.
A detailed understanding of the interaction between each of these structures is needed in order to make an accurate diagnosis of foot and leg pathology.
Oz-pod Protocol
After presentation and establishment of symptoms and concerns, clients are thoroughly examined. Ensuring accurate diagnosis with the greatest levels of treatment quality and problem resolution.

Children
Children’s skeletal systems transition through many stages of development. Growing bones not only get bigger, but change shape and orientation. Children’s development should be monitored throughout the developmental stages, not just for the sake of the feet but also for the whole musculo-skeletal make up.
Developing children transition through many stages, physically and physiologically. They can suffer strains, tears, breaks and over use injuries just as an adult. However, children have the added complication that their bones and soft tissue are still developing. Child specific conditions such as Osgood-Schlatter’s, Sever’s and other conditions effecting growth plates due to biomechanical anomalies, can be corrected and controlled with podiatry treatment.
Children’s feet are not simply small adult feet, they have a unique development pattern and function. Unlike teeth and eyes, foot health in kids is often neglected. This can lead to problems not only in the feet, but also the legs, pelvis and back.
Foot problems can also cause social effects. A child with foot problems may walk awkwardly and not be as athletic as they should. In some kids this can lead to them being shy, introverted, and an avoidance of sports and other social functions. In the presence of these problems we work with you and your child to help resolve these issues.
We can help your child if they are experiencing any of the following: Pigeon toed, in toe, out toe, flat foot or if they are not so stable when it comes to walking.
Typical conditions like the aforementioned can be treated with orthotic therapy, exercise based rehabilitation and muscular rehabilitation.
