Anahata Yoga Classes and Personal Sessions
Friendly, supportive Yoga classes offered regularly for beginners and intermediate levels held in Redland Bay.
People turn to Yoga for many reasons. To relieve stress, gain flexibility, heal the body, or perhaps to improve their energy. You can use Yoga for all these purposes but apart from the purely physical effects Yoga is also designed to help you create a unique inner journey of self-development and growth.
The word Yoga originates from the Sanskrit word literally meaning ‘union’. The underlying purpose of Yoga is to not only create a flexible and balanced body but to also join in union the Infinite Self, Pure
Consciousness, God, or whatever you call it, while quietening the mind. With regular practise of Yoga you can calm your mind, strengthen your body and allow your soul to shine brightly while creating more peace in your life.
Anahata Yoga classes are a mix of gentle therapeutic styles incorporating mainly Hatha Yoga, Iyengar Yoga, Vinyasana Yoga, Kundalini Yoga, energy work and relaxation/meditation. In this way you are able to stretch the body, increase your flexibility and also empower yourself with self knowledge.
Yoga classes are composite in nature so that whether you are a beginner or an intermediate you can work to your own body’s ability and flexibility. Also available are personalised Yoga sessions to help with poses or as a programme for your specific needs.
Classes are taught by Maia Martin who is a qualified and experienced Yoga teacher. Maia has a passion for helping those with ‘challenges’ within their bodies, as well as helping find centredness and balance in life.
Personalised Yoga Sessions
Personalised Yoga sessions are specially designed to suit your body and needs creating a programme that benefits you and where you are at that point. These sessions are also beneficial for discovering more depth and knowledge around the yoga asanas (poses) and how to do them.
Yoga Therapy Sessions
During these sessions we use gentle supported Yoga Poses, meditation, and other techniques to help you recover from injuries, alleviate pain in your body, create insight into why your body is holding pain and how that can be released not only from your body but also from your life.
Testimonials:
I am not sure when I started Yoga with Maia, I had been doing Yoga in one form or another, on and off for much of my life. My mother first took me when I was a little girl of three. I have never been consistent with my practice, I have dropped in and out depending on my circumstances, location and time.
When I started with Maia I was not in great shape, I had been looking after dying parents and was dealing with pain in many parts of my body. Over the years I have found Yoga has kept me pain free, I try and go at least once a week and that has been enough to make sure that I am in good shape to enjoy the rest of my life. What has been great is that as I have aged and faced physical restrictions, so has Maia, and she has found ways to practice in a more gentle fashion. I have benefited from all her work, study and research, and I just love the sessions. I have followed Maia to several locations over the years, lets hope we both have the energy to keep going for several more! Lisa.
