ACT Yoga & Meditation Centre established since 1989 offer these SATYANANDA YOGA classes in a peaceful garden studio in Canberra . Experienced yoga teachers guide you to progress at a comfortable level for yourself.

Vedanta Patricia Nicholson
An affiliated and accredited Level 2 Satyananda yoga teacher, I have a Diploma of Pre and Post Natal yoga teaching and 34 years experience teaching prenatal yoga. I am on the faculty of the Pre and Post Natal Yoga Teacher Training with ITYA (International Yoga Teachers Association) and currently serve on the Ethics committee of the SYTA (Satyananda Yoga Teachers Association)
Our Yoga and Active Birthing Skills workshops draw on my experience in Calm Birth training and as a doula. As an Ayurvedic Lifestyle counsellor and training as an postpartum Ayurdoula, I offer diet and nurturing support for women in that ‘sacred window of time’ after the birth of their baby.

I have been practicing yoga and meditation for ten years and qualified as a yoga teacher in 2008. I have been working together with my partner, Vedanta, who runs the ACT Yoga & Meditation Centre. I completed a certificate in Ayurvedic lifestyle counselling with Dr Rama Prasad. I have love for and am studying Vedic astrology with Komilla Sutton. In my classes, I would like to share with others the insights and benefits I have gained through the study of Ayurveda, Vedic Astrology and Yoga. I teach Ayurvedic nutrition and cooking . I am a available to give consultations in Vedic astrology (Jyotish). I am also a Thermomix consultant.
Santosh Janssen-Gibson
I am an affiliated Satyananda Yoga Teacher, but I am also a mother, have studied at university and also worked for 9 years in the public service. This has given me an understanding of the stressors and demands on students, staff and parents :-). Yoga has
helped to reduce my stress levels, to facilitate a balanced body and mind and to bring greater harmony within my relationships. I now have a yogic ‘toolkit’ of techniques that I use to deal with life’s daily challenges. I feel empowered to solve my own problems,
and I feel uplifted and blessed by the benefits that yoga consistently brings. As a teacher I am passionate about helping you to express your own inner qualities optimally and creatively. Yoga can help you to find more contentment with who you are and where you are right now. The practices help you to slowly harmonise yourself, being designed to evolve the whole person.
Yogamanas
My name is Yogamanas. I am fortunate to have taught Satyananda Yoga for the general community since 2000, on a full-time basis. I teach (and have taught) in many varied settings.
I am a Poorna Sannyasin, initiated into Sannyasa by Paramahamsa Niranjanananda and Swami Satsangi.
Part of what I do is to foster the cultivation of awareness, wellness, peace, and sense of connectedness – with self and others.
My thanks and gratitude go to Swamiji Paramahamsa Niranjanananda Saraswati, Paramahamsa Satyananda Saraswati, and Sri Swami Sivananda Saraswati. That said there have been many who have inspired and taught me much, it is a joy to remember them as I write. Their teaching will undoubtedly come through me in some form.
